NINA WERTAN
Vice President
Ms. Wertan is a 2011 graduate of the College of Agricultural Sciences with a Bachelors of Animal Science. Ms. Wertan also has a Master’s of Public Administration and Policy from American University. She has been an active member of PSPWN since 2016. Ms. Wertan has been in the DC Metro area since 2013 and is a program manager for The Humane Society of the United States. She is involved with efforts and events of Mercy International, especially their focus on women’s issues.
SHANNON RAFFERTY
Secretary
Ms. Rafferty is a 2016 graduate of the Schreyer Honors College and the College of Liberal Arts with degrees in History and Political Science. During her time at Penn State she was involved with the UPUA Student Government, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and Sexual Violence Awareness Week. She currently works at POLITICO in the Pro Sales department. In her spare time she enjoys reading, exploring DC, and finding new dog Instagram accounts to follow.
KAT JORDAN
President
Mrs. Jordan is a 2011 graduate of the Smeal College of Business with a degree in Management, and has been a member of PSPWN since 2013. She has lived in the DC area since graduation, and currently works at Navigant Consulting as a Recruiting Manager. She volunteers with a local animal shelter, and spends her free time whipping up desserts and cheering on the Philadelphia Flyers.
ERIN KIMSEY
Past President
Ms. Kimsey is a 2004 graduate of the School of Arts and Architecture with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture. Ms. Kimsey has been a member of PSPWN since 2007, and serving as Secretary and Spirit chair since 2013. She has lived in the DC area since July 2004 and is an Outdoor Recreation Planner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). She is a runner and an active volunteer in matters related to supporting the Arlington homeless community.
JILL ZIMMERMAN
Past President and Advisor
Ms. Zimmerman is a 1992 graduate of the School of Education. Ms. Zimmerman has been an active member of PSPWN since 2002, and has served in a variety of roles. She has lived in the DC area since 1995 and currently resides in Haymarket, VA. Ms. Zimmerman is the Director of Training and Development at Zenetex, LLC. She is actively involved in volunteering with a variety of local charitable organizations and enjoys the beach, reading and spending time with her husband and two rescue dogs.
LAUREN PIERA JOWELL
Treasurer & Communications Chair
Ms. Jowell is a 2004 graduate of the Schreyer Honors College, and attended the Behrend campus in Erie, PA. Ms. Jowell served as Vice President for four years, and has been an active member of PSPWN since 2008. She is currently an International Relations Officer for the U.S. Government promoting accountability in international awards. She is a runner and triathlete, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, and she loves a good spy thriller book.
ANDREA TIMASHENKA

Ms. Timashenka is a 2004 graduate of the College of Health and Human Development. She graduated with honors and highest distinction while earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Ms. Timashenka has been an active member of PSPWN since 2012. She is an attorney and currently works in the Office of the General Counsel for the US Department of Health and Human Services.
JULIE BARSIC
Membership Co-Chair
Ms. Barsic is a 2004 graduate of the Eberly College of Science. Ms. Barsic has been an active member of PSPWN since 2006, holding positions as Spirit Chair and Membership Chair. She has been in the DC area since August 2004, and is currently a Senior Management Analyst at GAP Solutions, Inc. She is an active soccer and softball player in leagues across the DC area.
WHITNEY STRINGER

Ms. Stringer is a 2007 graduate and the owner of Whitney Stringer PR & Events.
CHRISTINE REUBI
Professional Development Co-Chair
Ms. Reubi is a 2012 graduate of the College of Engineering with a degree in Nuclear Engineering. Ms. Reubi also holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University. She joined PSPWN in 2015 after relocating to the DC area. She recently began working with space and satellite systems as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, baking, and trying new things. She also volunteers by serving meals at a local charity.
ALLEY LAMONT
Penn State Pride/Spirit Chair
Ms. LaMont is a 2015 graduate of the College of Health & Human Development with a degree in Biobehavioral Health and a minor in Kinesiology. During her time at Penn State she was involved with the Panhellenic Board, UPUA Student Government, and Women's Leadership Initiative. She currently works at the Advisory Board Company. As a board member she hopes to focus on community development and women's empowerment initiatives. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, reading home magazines, and antique shopping.
